LaserVision NEW Active Laser Safe Window

The new Active Laser Safe Window of LaserVision

With commonly used filter materials, complete laser safety is difficult to achieve due to the constantly increasing laser power and beam quality of modern disc and fibre lasers. In most cases common laser safety windows do not reach the protection rating by the laser safety guidelines.

The new patented active cabinet window solves this problem in an ideal and easy way by integrating the implemented electronic into the safety circuit of the laser system. In the event that a laser beam hits the window and a sufficient part of the radiation couples into the sensor in the window frame, the laser will be shut-down immediately before radiation leaks from the back side of the window. Incredibly this system is totally insensitive against scattered and process light.

This offers the user a complete, safety-certified system which is in accordance to mechanical engineering regulation. When combined with active barrier systems a certifiable safety solution for industrial high power laser installations, in the wavelength range between 820-1100 nm, is now also available.

Highlights:

OPHIR: Volume Absorbers with 20X the Power Handling Capacity

BFi OPTiLAS, Pan-European partner of Ophir laser measurement group, is glad to introduce a new line of high damage threshold power volume absorbers for short pulse lasers (<1us).

The PF Sensors absorb a laser's energy in the volume of the material being used. The sensors make use of a spray deposited on the surface and provide significantly higher power handling capacity and faster response times than the typical glass or ceramic substrate. They can handle up to 20x the power density, up to 3KW/cm2, and the response rate time is as fast as 1s.

The PF Absorber Sensors is available today in four models for 15 to 150 Watts lasers. It allows power densities up to 3KW/cm2 instead of the usual 50W/cm2. The sprayed on coating is more durable and can be produced in any size needed. Because the absorber is a layer and not a solid surface, response times are faster.
